“Snowmobile Safety” Campaign
As the temperature drops and the snowy weather drifts in upon us, our winter enthusiasts are using their gear for another season of snowmobiling. U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration and the American Council of Snowmobile Associations urge snowmobile safety with a few reminders.
Speed, alcohol consumption, and drug use are major factors in many snowmobile crashes. Avalanches can also be dangerous, killing dozens of people and injuring many more each year. Trespassing, the #1 complaint against snowmobilers by landowners, is a leading cause of lost snowmobiling access. The ACSA’s radio PSAs entitled “Impaired Snowmobile Operation,” “Speed Kills,” “Avalanche Safety,” and “Private Lands/Trespass” serve as reminders for snowmobile operators to take proper safety precautions and make responsible decisions to avoid dangerous, even life-threatening situations. The PSAs are :30 in length. Evergreen (no expiration)/ Available in English.
